The Way to Salvation
God created us to be perfect people, living in a perfect garden, on a perfect planet, in
a perfect universe. But humanity sinned and now all of that has been corrupted: the
universe, the planet, and us.
Becaue of the curse of sin, we are spiritually dead and slaves to sin. We have all
sinned. We are and will always be separeted from God unless our sins can be forgiven.
But no amount of our own good works can remove our guilt and make us spiritually alive
again; only something external can remove our sins from us.
Fortunately, God has made a way! Jesus was sinless when He died on the cross, which made
Him a sacrifice capable of removing the sins of anyone who believes/trusts in Him. And
the power and life which brought Him out of the grave also makes alive anyone who
believes/trusts in Him.
Romans 10:9 says that "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Do you believe what I've
written here - that you are a sinner, that you cannot save yourself, but that by
trusting in Jesus and making Him your Lord (turning away from your sinful, self-centered
life to follow Him), He will take away your sins and give you new life? Then say a
prayer to Him right now! Confess out loud these statements as true - God will hear your
prayer! It doesn't have to be fancy or use special words, it just needs to come from
your heart.
Once you've prayed, your work is done! From this point on it is God who will work to
keep you in His arms. You might have said that prayer with just a speck of faith, but
that's all that it takes! It is no longer by your strength or effort to be saved; God
will use His strength and effort to keep you with Him, and He will never let you down.
Some people pray that prayer and feel different, while others feel the same. It doesn't
matter what you feel; what matters are the facts. God promises to never leave you or
forsake you. Jesus said, "Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one." (John 18:9)
Your only job now is to walk as close to Him as you can. You should get a Bible and read
it every day. You should get to the point where you pray about whatever situation you're
in, all day, every day. Some of those prayers will be thanks, and some will be concerns,
and some prayers will just be talking to Him because you love each other's company!
Finally, be sure to find a group of strong, mature Christians to pray and worship with,
who will answer your questions and help guide you on your walk to maturity. If you're
fortunate enough to live in a nation where Christianity is free, find a church. If
Christianity isn't allowed where you live, perhaps find someone online to read the Bible
and pray with you.
My blog is meant to encourage people who are already Christian, but if somehow you found
our Lord through my writings, please email me and let me know! I'd love to welcome you
to the family!
